Overview of HIAS SME
The Research Center for Regional and SME Policy (HIAS SME) was created under the Hitotsubashi Institute for Advanced Study in spring 2020 with the aim of promoting research in regional and SME policies. Under the partnership and cooperation agreement signed by Hitotsubashi University with METI’s Small and Medium Enterprise Agency, its specific objectives are to: (1) conduct research on administrative issues and needs; (2) utilize various statistical and administrative data for research; and (3) promote academic exchanges between the partners through joint research and other projects.
